What is a regional development?

Region is usually defined as a geographical area smaller than the national territory on which it is situated. Region can thus be a municipality, a town, a county, a group of counties or a country. Regions do not necessarily concur with administrative borders, as the definition of region depends on the current issue of consideration (e.g. labour market area, river basin area, and the like).
